It is a matter of great pleasure to introduce The Children’s Hospital & the Institute of Child Health
Multan on website. It is a 300-bedded Hospital with sub-specialist services established in 1998 by the order of Chief Minister, Govt. of Punjab. Presently, 150 beds are working with necessary electro-medical equipments. Project of Construction/ expansion of another 150 beds are in progress for last 1 year. The Hospital is located in the heart of city and is catering services for whole Southern Punjab including North of Baluchistan and Sindh Province.
CH&ICH is providing state of art services in 15 different disciplines of Paediatrics. An independent emergency is working round the clock to cater both for medical and surgical cases. The workload is increasing day by day with bed occupancy of 150-200% through out the year. A state of art Neonatal Intensive Care and Paediatric Intensive Care with total -- Support under care of Neonatologist and Paediatric intensivist are fully functional. Radiology Department, Pathology Department and Blood Bank are other supportive Departments of worth mentioning.
A dedicated team of trained Paediatricians and Paediatric Surgeons along with Nursing and Paramedics are available for patients care. An attempt to provide integrated facilities is made in this hospital under the logo “Where the Kids Come First”. A comprehensive approach to Preventive Paediatrics and Community Programs to combat malnutrition and unhygienic condition has been started by the Hospital. In spite of all above, available facilities, still we have to go a long way to achieve excellence.
The institute is a tertiary care teaching hospital and recognized by CPSP for its membership and fellowship Program in Medicine, Surgery, Neonatology, and Anesthesiology etc. The University of Health Sciences, Lahore is running its M.D, M.S and DCH training program with annual admission of 9 candidates. Moreover, Pakistan Medical & Dental Council has recognized this teaching institute for imparting training in all above-mentioned Diploma and Degree programs.
In the end, I want to express my gratitude and appreciation to Faculty Members, Hospital Management and other Staff for their commendable services rendered for this institution. I hope that with continued teamwork, this institution would emerge as a symbol of service for children’s and an academic center of excellence.
