General paediatrics provides care to sick children with medical diseases in the wards and in the out-patient Department. General paediatricians do not confine their work to a single body system or organ.
How to make an appointment:
Patients need a referral from a general practitioner or other medical practitioner to the General Medical Clinics in the Outpatient Department.

The department of Paediatrics is concerned with the health of infants, children and adolescents, their growth and development and their opportunity to achieve full potential as adults. The young are often the most Vulnerable in society and thus their needs require special attention.
The delivery of health care is through the out-patient and in-patient services. Out patient services caters to the need of the age group one month to 14 years which includes

The department is involved in the Teaching program and academic activities of the following:-
- Postgraduate Medical Training in Paediatric Medicine and Surgery include DCH & MD for UHS, MCPS, FCPS with CPSP Karachi.
The academic activities for the postgraduate and paramedical students are well structured and are according to the PMDC & CPSP guidelines.
- We are actively involved in Community health Programme and National Health Programme.
- Several research projects and vaccine trials have been done by the Department. The faculty is involved in formulation and guidance dissertations work of the postgraduate students.
Several programmes Symposiums Seminars and Conferences have been organized by the department.
