Social Welfare Department was established in the Children Hospital and The Institute of Child Health Multan on 1st June 2005. The basic aim to provide the Medical Assistance in the form of medicines /disposables, blood to the poor and deserving patients visiting the hospital from the various cities and rural areas of the Southern Punjab. This office is managed by the Social Welfare Officers and some supporting staff to ensures that each deserving patients gets the required medical treatment under any one of the available welfare funds. Records of the patients treated under the Bait-ul-Mal and Zakat or Children Welfare Society funds are maintained in this office. Similarly, as per the law every public hospital is also bound to have a Patient Welfare Society duly registered as a nonprofit organization that collects funds for the benefit of the needy patients.

To provide Medical Assistance in the form of free medicines, blood and treatment to the poor and needy patients visiting to The Children Hospital and the Institute of Child Health Multan from various cities and rural areas of the Southern Punjab.

Make necessary and immediate arrangements for the provision of medicines, surgical, disposable items to the cancer, dialysis, special children through Zakat funds.

Social Welfare Pharmacy is working under the umbrella of Social Welfare Department is providing free of cost medicines/ disposables to the deserving patients round the clock

Pakistan Bait ul Mal

• Facilitation of patients for Medical assistance from Pakistan Bait ul Mal.
• Social Welfare Department is working in Collaboration with Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal for the arrangement of life saving drugs etc for the poor patients.

Children Welfare Society

Children welfare society is to generating funds /medicines/ disposables and providing voluntarily services. Children welfare society is working with the management of the Children Hospital and The Institute of Child Health Multan for generation and provision of funds to necessary investigations to make the definite diagnosis.

Campaign for blood donation

Social Welfare Department manage the blood campaigns in the educational institutions, industries, union councils with the consent of head of department/ Nazims on weekly basis.
